Description: Sand and Gravel flat within floodplain of the Arkansas River is vegetated with a scrub-shrub of young willow. Some emergent herbaceous fresh marsh of Carex spp. also is present. Young willow growth is supported by successive years of low water flow in the river and limited intense higher water flooding.
