		Wetland Category: Wetland Scrub-shrub
Description: Wetland that was fresh-intermediate and is now more salty with Scrub-Shrub. Red Mangrove with prop roots and Spartina spp. are on the edge of the tributary channel; however Leather fern is the other dominant plant along the edge of the channel and within the marsh. The dead vegetation in the channel is Typha spp, indicating fresher conditions had been available for its growth, but since has been stressed and died as a result of higher concentrations of saltwater intruding into the Manatee River delta. |
